In the novels that are the subject of interest of this text, the dominant theme is the adultery, which is a starting factor in their organization and their ideological framework. On the one hand, we have an intimate story about one, by all means, successful woman (Amalia Kojic, the main female character in the novel „Adulterers“) who is confronted with the stereotypes of her environment. On the other hand, is the narrator in the novel „Countdown“ by Frosina Parmakovska, who decides to marry in haste, carried away by the euphoria of her passion for a painfully jealous and mentally disturbed man, which results in mistrust, repression, nightmares and torture leading her to adultery. In this text, through a comparative approach, the theme of adultery in the Serbian and Macedonian women’s letters is analyzed, specifically in the novels of Ognenovic and Parmakovska.en_US
