1 | Abstract: | Slavic translations of the holy fathers’ works of the Church from the patristic period appeared immediately after the translation of the biblical and liturgical books necessary for the daily liturgical and prayer activities as such of the Christianized Slavs. Naturally, these translations are connected to the mission of the holy brothers Constantine (Cyril) and Methodius and their disciples. Soon after, these patristic devotional texts became an important and favorite reading of Christians in the Slavic world, and this contributed to their multiplication and spread in various Slavic environments. Thus, the Macedonian climate appears as one of the climates with the most fertile literary, spiritual and cultural centers, rich in a multitude of literary schools, where, among other things, this type of Church Slavonic literature was nurtured, from the Cyrilmethodian period, until the extended Middle Ages and later, and this is evidenced by the numerous preserved Church Slavonic manuscripts in domestic and foreign collections and libraries. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12188/29515 |
