dc.description.abstract | In this essay author examines the contemporary ontology of rap music and hip-hop culture. The album “Hip-hop is dead”, from Nas is the referential point that inaugurates the postponed condition of algor mortis, namely, after the death you have the signs of cooling the body. Rebellion is the real condition of rap and hip-hop and this rebellion is abolished on the three levels: sampling is not free so rap is no longer postmodernism; textuality no longer depends on the language as an uncontrollable being but it is more part of repetitive mannerism; and rap is no longer political voice of the deteritorialized community but rather part of the system of totality. | en_US |
