Title: | A meshfree formulation for the simulation of mould filling processes in casting | Authors: | Saucedo-Zendejo, Felix R. | Keywords: | casting, meshless method, Finite Pointset Method, FPM | Issue Date: | 8-May-2020 | Publisher: | Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Republic of North Macedonia | Series/Report no.: | CIIT 2020 full papers;29 | Conference: | 17th International Conference on Informatics and Information Technologies - CIIT 2020 | Abstract: | The numerical simulation of the mould filling step in casting is crucial since it provides a complete set of detailed information. However, the mesh based methods usually used to model this processes have some drawbacks when dealing with this kind of problems. In order to overcome some of these limitations in this work the application of an innovative meshfree computational tool based on the Finite Pointset Method is proposed. The main features and details of its implementation are presented and finally, the accuracy and robustness of this scheme is assessed through the numerical simulations of threedimensional test problems in mould filling processes. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12188/8216 |
