Biography
Gunter Merdzan is enrolled in doctoral studies (third cycle studies) in Economic Sciences at the University School for Doctoral Studies at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. His working on his doctoral thesis entitled: "The Role of Institutions in the Process of Economic Growth in Post-Transition European Countries with Emphasis on the Republic of North Macedonia". The subject of the doctoral dissertation is the role of institutional differences in explaining income differences between countries. The focus is on examining the significance of the quality of economic and political institutions in economic growth, especially in post-transition European countries. Since 2021, Gunter Merdzan has been a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics - Skopje at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He is responsible for preparing and performing exercises, teaching in a teacher's presence, admission (consultations) of students, participation in scientific research projects, publication of scientific and professional works and a series of other activities. Primary areas of his scientific preoccupation are economics, macroeconomics, economic growth and development. He has published scientific research papers and articles in his field of scientific interest, as well as on the role of new technologies in economic growth. In addition, he takes an active part in various domestic and international projects, conferences, seminars and training.
